The court in Novi Sad has implemented three temporary measures against the Center for Social Stability association, restricting it from targeting journalists from N1 and Nova in its videos on YouTube and social networks. Allegations include calling these stations “poisonous,” inciting “discrimination,” “violence and hatred,” and creating an “atmosphere of chaos,” as reported today by the portal. N1.

“United Media” and “Adria News” have initiated four legal actions against the Center for Social Stability in the Basic Court in Novi Sad. This is due to the production and airing of the video and film “Evil Times,” which they claim targets journalists from N1 and Nova S, damaging their reputation and personal dignity, and seeking compensation.

According to N1, the court’s three temporary measures include a prohibition on making public a video that features the logos of these stations and recordings of their journalists, while falsely alleging that they “lie and sow hatred.” This legally binding measure remains in effect until the conclusion of the proceedings.

The second measure prohibits the defendant from labeling N1 and Nova S as “poison houses” in any of their films or videos shared on television, YouTube, and other social media platforms.

The defendant is also barred from inciting discrimination, violence, and hatred; from lying and creating chaos; from calling for extreme violence; from manipulating the public; and from provoking violent reactions from citizens, which aims to destabilize the state. Ongoing proceedings relate to the defendant’s appeal against this temporary measure.

The third interim measure, stemming from a lawsuit by journalists Željko Veljković and Jelena Obućina, prohibits the defendant from stating that Veljković is a “self-chauvinist journalist who insults and belittles his own people.” It also restricts claims that he conducts his work to prove to foreign diplomats and financiers that both he and Obućina form part of a “self-chauvinist trilogy” and that they disseminate fake news.

This temporary measure, as reported by N1, is final and will remain in effect until the end of the proceedings.

“These temporary measures have at least momentarily stopped the media campaign by the Center for Social Stability against our television stations and their journalists. Preparatory hearings and the continuation of first-instance proceedings are anticipated in all cases. The temporary measures will stay in place until this process concludes,” N1 reported.

On July 7, the Center for Social Stability filed an appeal against the decision made by the First Basic Court in Novi Sad, arguing that their lawyers determined the factual circumstances inaccurately and applied substantive law incorrectly.
