“No Doubts from the Start: Jadran Dominates Primorac in the Final”

The opening match of the final series didn’t deliver much thrill, as the Jadran water polo team comfortably beat Primorac, marking a strong first step toward defending their Montenegro championship title.

In the open pool at Škver, the host team secured an 11:5 victory, with the derby only living up to its hype during the first quarter.

Jadran started strong at 1:0, but Primorac briefly took the lead at 2:1. After that, they went nearly 20 minutes without scoring, trailing 6:2 by the end of the third period.

In the final eight minutes, with the outcome already apparent, the Kotor side found some attacking rhythm, but Jadran’s goalkeeper Darko Đurović showcased remarkable skill with several key saves.

Similarly, Sandro Kralj for Primorac also managed to deny a few scoring opportunities from the Novljani…

“Although the final score was 11:5 and may seem easy, there were times when Primorac could have closed the gap. I believe our physical preparation played a crucial role,” Radanović noted.

Primorac needs to step up their game.

“We started well, but the second quarter changed the dynamics of the match. We had chances that we failed to convert and struggled to find our rhythm. Our performance was lacking, and I expect to see improvements in Kotor. I believe we can perform better,” stated Primorac coach Ranko Perović.

Jadran’s Đuro Radović led the score with three goals, while Pavel Halturin and Danilo Radović contributed two each, and Danilo Stupar, Uroš Vučurović, and Matija Sladović each netted one.

For Primorac, Marko Mršić scored twice, with Bojan Paunović, Srđan Janović, and Balša Vučković each adding one goal.

The final series is a best-of-five format, with the next match scheduled for May 1 in Kotor.
