Ronaldo Suggests He Plans to Remain at Al Nasr
Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested that he may continue his tenure at Saudi club Al-Nasr.
His contract with Al-Nasr is set to expire at month’s end, and while a BBC source has indicated that the club is optimistic about renewing the player’s contract, there are rumors that the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star might leave.
Just last week, as the Saudi league season concluded, Ronaldo posted on social media that “the chapter is over.” However, following the Nations League final where Portugal triumphed over Spain, he intimated that a stay at Al-Nasr is possible.
“The future? Nothing will change. Al-Nasr? Yes,” Ronaldo told journalists in Munich after Portugal’s 5-3 win on penalties (the match ended 2-2 after extra time). He netted the equalizer, marking his 138th goal for the national team.
Ronaldo was substituted in the 88th minute and did not take a penalty, shedding tears when Ruben Neveš scored the decisive goal.
On Saturday, Ronaldo announced that he will not participate in the Club World Cup, which begins on June 14 in the United States.
