Cadets Finish Fifth in European Championship B Division

The Montenegrin cadet basketball team secured fifth place at the European B Championship, triumphing over Croatia and Ukraine with a score of 82:67 in the playoff.
Under the guidance of coach Mirko Proroković, the team started the match impressively, establishing an 8:0 lead. However, they allowed the opposition to rally back with an 8:0 run, resulting in a tied score at 10:3. Nonetheless, Montenegro ended the first half ahead at 31:27. The third quarter proved decisive, with Montenegro outscoring their opponents 25:14 and holding onto their lead throughout the final quarter.
Andrej Fantić delivered an outstanding performance, tallying 31 points while boasting exceptional shooting stats (78% overall, with no missed 2-pointers and 4/7 from beyond the arc), alongside 5 rebounds and 40 assists, yielding a utility index of 14. Luka Malović contributed notably, scoring 9 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.
During the group stage of the championship held in Skopje, our team recorded three victories and one defeat, facing elimination in the quarterfinals against Poland, which later reached the finals along with Belgium, securing places in the A division.
