The Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology has issued a warning regarding the anticipated high temperatures in Montenegro.
“In the upcoming days, the Balkan region will experience the effects of a thermobaric ridge combined with a very warm air mass coming from the north and northwest of Africa, leading to extremely hot weather. Current forecasts suggest this situation will persist for most of the next week. This heatwave is expected to result in excessively high air temperatures, reaching tropical levels in many areas of the country, particularly in the Zeta-Bjelopavlić plain where maximum temperatures may surpass 40 degrees,” the statement notes.
These elevated temperatures will also heighten the risk of fires, complicating daily activities, so it is crucial to adhere to well-known protective measures and medical recommendations, the Institute stressed.
