Passengers Drenched in Marijuana Attempt to Board Flight at Podgorica Airport

Border police at Podgorica Airport, along with airport officials, intercepted an attempt to smuggle around 930 grams of marijuana and apprehended two Turkish nationals.
As reported by the Police Directorate, the individuals were checked as they were exiting Montenegro while going through passenger screenings for an international flight. The announcement mentions that TT (24) and CE (26) hold permits for temporary residence and work in Montenegro.
“Upon thorough inspection, several packages containing a plant substance believed to be marijuana, totaling around 490 grams, were discovered concealed under the clothing of individual CE, secured with adhesive tape on the stomach and groin area. Similarly, individual TT was found with packages of marijuana weighing approximately 440 grams, also attached to the body with adhesive tape,” stated the police.
Additionally, a search of the apartment rented by the suspects in the Zabjelo neighborhood revealed a small quantity of marijuana, joints, and a grinding machine.
The State Prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica has ordered the arrest of CE and TT on suspicions of committing the offense of unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotic drugs.
