“Montenegro’s EU Aspirations Diminish as Mandić Strengthens Government Power”

Ivan Vujović, the President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and a key figure in the European Alliance, stated today that with Andrija Mandić, President of the Parliament of Montenegro and leader of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), “in the Government and never stronger in power,” Montenegro will not join the European Union (EU).
According to Vujović, “This government lacks both the knowledge and the desire to pursue the EU path—it’s doubly unprepared. Montenegro is making sluggish progress towards the EU, only due to pressure from Brussels. With Mandić becoming more powerful in government, Montenegro’s EU prospects are dim,” he shared on social media platform X.
He further claimed that Milojko Spajić, the Prime Minister of Montenegro and leader of the Europe Now Movement (PES), “is fading so fast that in two years he may only be able to plead with Andrija for a few spots on his electoral list.”
“This sounds all too familiar. Educate yourself, Milojko, even if it’s just through Google, since it seems you lack knowledgeable people in your party. Those who are informed are closer to Mandić than they are to you,” Vujović remarked.
