Czechs Face Threats and Endure a Debacle in Osijek

Croatia has emerged as a strong favorite for first place and direct qualification to the World Cup in the Group L derby, which also features the Montenegrin national team.

The “Fiery” team dominated the Czech Republic in Osijek, winning 5:1, even though the visitors managed to equalize early in the second half through Tomaš Souček.

Andrej Kramarić opened the scoring for Zlatko Dalić’s side in the first half, followed by four goals between the 62nd and 75th minutes—Luka Modrić and Ante Budimir scored from penalties, while Ivan Perišić and Kramarić found the net from open play.

After two matches, Croatia has six points following a 7:0 victory against Gibraltar on Friday.

The Czechs sit on nine points from four games, while our team boasts six points from three matches. The Faroe Islands have three points after a 2:1 win against Gibraltar in Torshavn tonight.

The visitors led for a significant portion of the match, starting from the 23rd minute with a goal from Manchester United player James Scanlon, but the upset was thwarted by Arni Frederiksberg in the 71st minute and Patrik Johansen in the 86th minute.

In Luciano Spalletti’s last match, Italy defeated Moldova 2:0 with goals from Giacomo Raspadori and Andrea Cambiaz. Meanwhile, Norway solidified their status as favorites by defeating Estonia, with Erling Haaland scoring the decisive goal for a 1:0 victory.

An eventful match with seven goals unfolded in Brussels, as Belgium faced Wales.

The home team triumphed 4:3, with Kevin de Bruyne sealing the win in the 88th minute, despite Belgium leading 3:0 within 30 minutes thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku, Youri Tielemans, and Jeremy Doku.

The Welsh team fought back to equalize at 3:3 by the 70th minute, with goals from Harry Wilson, Sorba Thomas, and Brennan Johnson, but the “Red Devils” delivered a final blow.

This marked Belgium’s first win after a draw against leaders North Macedonia.

The Macedonians earned three points in Kazakhstan with a narrow 1:0 victory, thanks to a goal from Aleksandar Trajkovski.
