The national carrier, Air Montenegro, has expanded its fleet with a third Embraer E195 aircraft and entered into a multi-year agreement to join Embraer’s Pool Program (NYSE: ERJ; B3: EMB3). This program includes the new aircraft as well as two existing E195 planes already in service.

Currently, Embraer’s Pool Program supports over 60 airlines globally that operate aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer.

The new E195 added to Air Montenegro’s fleet, acquired on a three-year dry lease—meaning no crew, maintenance, or insurance provided—will arrive at Podgorica Airport on Friday.

Following an inspection by officials from the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro, this aircraft is expected to be registered under the national civil aircraft registry with the designation 4O-AOE.

“While our collaboration with Embraer has been long-standing and fruitful, we truly believe its best days lie ahead. The ongoing development of Air Montenegro and the modernization of our fleet will create new avenues for deepening our partnership and realizing shared objectives in safety, innovation, and service excellence,” remarked Tihomir Dragaš, President of Air Montenegro’s Board of Directors, at a press conference held by Embraer during the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport.

Vukadin Stojanović, CEO of Air Montenegro, added, “With the invaluable support and collaboration from Embraer, we are thrilled to welcome another aircraft to our fleet. This achievement signifies not just our strong relationship with the manufacturer, but also our mutual commitment to enhancing safety and operational standards for the benefit of our passengers and crew. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Embraer for their ongoing support throughout our enduring partnership.”

Embraer’s President and CEO of Services & Support, Carlos Naufel, noted, “Air Montenegro has demonstrated significant growth over the past year, and we are delighted to contribute to that success by providing added capacity and world-class service. Our aim is to keep E-Jets ready for takeoff and to further solidify our successful partnership in the years ahead.”

Established in 1969, Embraer is a global aerospace company headquartered in Brazil, renowned as a leading manufacturer of commercial jets that accommodate up to 150 passengers. To date, Embraer has delivered over 9,000 aircraft around the world.

On average, one of Embraer’s aircraft takes flight every ten seconds, transporting over 150 million passengers annually.

Embraer has a long-standing productive relationship with the Montenegrin national airline, with the former Montenegro Airlines being among the first in this region to incorporate E-Jet series aircraft into their fleet in 2008.

As of now, excluding the leased aircraft arriving in Podgorica on Friday, the fleet operated by Montenegro Airlines, or Air Montenegro, has included three E195s and one E-190. Embraer has previously recognized Air Montenegro for its exemplary maintenance and outstanding reliability of its E-Jet series aircraft.

Thanks to years of successful collaboration, Embraer has purportedly made a very appealing offer to Air Montenegro’s management for fleet renewal and expansion. If the Montenegrin government, who owns the national airline, agrees, Air Montenegro’s existing E195s may soon be replaced with five entirely new, upgraded second-generation E195-E2 models.
