As directed by the prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Kotor, criminal charges have been leveled against PK (65) from Tivat on allegations of inducing the certification of false content and forging documents.
It is believed that PK committed forgery by using license plates from another vehicle during a traffic incident, according to the Police Directorate.
“The police were informed by telephone about an accident with material damage that took place on the Njeguši – Trojica road yesterday afternoon, during which the participants were guided on how to complete the European report.
However, later that evening, specifically two hours after the initial call, the individuals involved in the accident contacted the police again to request an on-site investigation,” the police noted.
The police stated that upon their arrival at the location, their officers, after assessing the scene, suspected that the traffic accident had been staged. Consequently, the individuals involved were invited to the Kotor Security Department for further inquiry.
“After gathering information from both parties, one of whom is a foreign national and the other PK (65) from Tivat, the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor was notified of the occurrence,” the statements revealed, leading to the criminal charges against the Tivat resident.
“He incurred the offense of inducing the verification of false content by being involved in a traffic accident with the specified vehicle, which was displaying the license plates of a third vehicle at that time. Following the initial police call, he removed the vehicle he was operating and substituted it with another vehicle donning the same license plates from the first vehicle, subsequently making a second call to the police to request an on-site investigation. The license plates were also confiscated from him,” concluded the police statement.
