The final point in last night’s match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which sealed the outcome and propelled the Montenegrin women’s volleyball team to their inaugural European Championship, was made by Nikoleta Perović.
Montenegro triumphed over Bosnia and Herzegovina with a clear score of 3:0 on their home turf, while the captain contributed an impressive 24 points.
This victory has guaranteed our national team at least a spot among the top five second-placed teams in the qualifiers. Currently, Montenegro leads the Group D standings, just one point ahead of Latvia, whom they will face on Sunday in the decisive round.
“I’d like to commend the team for a remarkable performance and a tremendous effort. We managed to recover from a challenging game and a deficit. We demonstrated true team spirit and executed everything we have been working on for the past two months. I feel glad, happy, and proud. The atmosphere was amazing. We adhered to our tactics, which is why we celebrated and attained this historic achievement. To complete the task, we need a victory against Latvia on Sunday, so I invite everyone to join us in making history,” remarked Perović after the match.
The upcoming match against Latvia is scheduled for Sunday (19) in Kolašin.
“I am proud of all the girls, as we managed to perform as we had been preparing. We secured three points, which are crucial for our qualification for the European Championship. We must maintain this momentum to defeat Latvia on Sunday and clinch first place in the group,” stated Tijana Tvrdišić.
