The Montenegrin women’s volleyball team achieved a historic milestone last night by qualifying for the European Championship for the very first time.

Montenegro secured a 3:0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina away, placing them at the top of the table with seven points as they head into the final round. Latvia is trailing by just one point, and Caković’s squad is set to face them on Sunday (19) in Kolašin.

With the win against Bosnia and Herzegovina, our team has guaranteed at least a spot among the five best second-placed teams in the qualifiers and will compete against Latvia for the top position in Group D.

“Congratulations to my players and coaching staff on a remarkable, historic win. It was a match filled with tension and patience, but ultimately the result was as we desired. I want to extend an invitation to all volleyball fans in Montenegro to join us in Kolašin on Sunday at 19:00 to celebrate our advancement to the European Championship,” said Coach Caković following the match.

The European Championship is scheduled to take place next year across Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Turkey.

Turkey is the defending champion.
