Gabriel Will Maintain His Stronghold on Arsenal’s Defense
Arsenal footballer Gabriel has officially signed a new multi-year contract with the London club today.
Although Arsenal has not disclosed the specific length of Gabriel’s contract extension, reports from Sky suggest it is a four-year agreement, set to last until 2029. His previous contract was set to expire in 2027.
The 27-year-old Brazilian joined Arsenal from Lille in 2020 and has since made 210 appearances for the club across all competitions, netting 20 goals.
Gabriel expressed his delight, stating, “I arrived as a young player, and after nearly five years, I’m thrilled to have gained so much experience. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved; it’s been an amazing journey, and I’m eager to continue. I aspire to lift trophies with this club, as it holds a special place in my heart, and my family loves it too,” on the club’s website.
Despite missing the final two months of the season due to tendon surgery, he is anticipated to be fit for the start of the upcoming season.
Sky also reported that the club’s management is looking to extend the contracts of William Saliba and Bukayo Saka.
Earlier this week, Arsenal confirmed that Jorginho and Kieran Tierney would be departing the club at the end of the month after their contracts run out.
