Gilges-Alexander Scores 50, Edwards Adds 49; Vučević’s Double-Double Can’t Save the Bulls

Another exciting night in the NBA showcased two basketball phenoms – Shay Gilges-Alexander lit up the scoreboard with 50 points, while Anthony Edwards trailed closely with 49 points in a game against Chicago, where our own Nikola Vučević played.
Led by Edwards, Minnesota cruised to a 127:108 victory over Chicago, with “Ant” netting 20 of his 49 points in the third quarter.
In addition to his scoring, the Wolves star grabbed nine rebounds and provided three assists, hitting six three-pointers out of 14 attempts and scoring 17 points from the free-throw line out of 18 attempts.
Despite Vučević’s double-double performance, the Bulls couldn’t secure a win – the Montenegrin center ended the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Oklahoma seems to be on a roll, boosted by the presence of their “flying Canadian.” The Thunder soared past the Suns with a decisive 140:109 victory.
With this win, OKC solidified its position as the league leader, boasting a record of 40 wins and nine losses, ahead of Cleveland’s 41-10 record.
Gilges-Alexander contributed 50 points, along with eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Aaron Wiggins supported with 17 points and six rebounds, while Jaylen Williams added 13 points.
For the Suns, who faced their third consecutive loss, Bradley Beal scored 25 points and dished out six assists, Devin Booker added 19 points, and Royce O’Neal finished with 18 points. Kevin Durant was absent due to an ankle injury.
Denver triumphed over New Orleans with a score of 144:119, marking their fourth straight win. Michael Porter led the Nuggets with a career-high 39 points, alongside 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Nikola Jokić tallied 38 points, ten assists, and eight rebounds.
New Orleans faced its seventh consecutive loss, with Zion Williamson being the standout player, scoring 28 points, totaling six rebounds, and four assists.
In a game without Jimmy Butler, Miami emerged victorious against Philadelphia, 108:101. Tyler Hiro led the scoring for the Florida team with 30 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, while Nikola Jović contributed 23 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.
Tyrese Maxey was the top performer for the 76ers with 31 points, five assists, and four steals.
San Antonio edged out Atlanta 126:125, with Victor Wembanyama scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Diaron Fox, in his debut after being traded from Sacramento, added 24 points and 13 assists.
For Atlanta, Trae Young put up 32 points with 12 assists, Onyeka Okonkwo had 30 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, while Dyson Daniels added 19 points.
In other matchups, Milwaukee overcame Charlotte 112:102, while Cleveland delivered an impressive victory over Detroit, 30:118, led by Evan Mobley’s exceptional 115-point performance.
Utah triumphed over Golden State 131:128, Orlando defeated Sacramento 130:111, and Memphis, powered by Jaren Jackson’s 32 points, claimed a victory over Toronto with a score of 138:107.
