Budućnost achieved two significant milestones in one day: Armel Atingre will continue as the goalkeeper for the renowned Montenegrin handball team next season, while Nina Bulatović is making her return to Podgorica after impressive performances at the recent World Championship.
“We have reached an agreement to extend the contract with one of our top players, and we are excited to announce the return of a two-time European champion – Atingre will be in Budućnost’s goal next season, and the blue jersey will once again be donned by our national team’s right wing, Nina Bulatović,” stated the representatives from Budućnost of Bemax.
Atingre joined Budućnost in August 2020. The French goalkeeper, originally from Ivory Coast, has delivered exceptional performances in the EHF Champions League over the past three and a half seasons and is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
Following her outstanding displays for the national team at the recently concluded World Cup, Bulatović has opted to return to Budućnost after previously signing with Romania’s Gloria Bistrita before the start of this season.
Prior to these announcements, Budućnost also finalized three additional signings for the upcoming season – Montenegrin national team members Jelena Despotović and Đurđina Jauković are rejoining, while Russian player Valerija Kirdyasheva is arriving from Rostov Don.
“We will include several more members of the Montenegrin national team for next season – Ivona Pavićević, Ivana Godeč, Anastasija Marsenić, and Nađa Kadović, further establishing the two-time European champion’s commitment to being the backbone of the national team, which secured a bronze medal at the last EHF Euro 2022 and seventh place at the recent World Cup,” concluded the representatives from Budućnost.
