The Czechs excelled in crucial aspects, but numerous opportunities for improvement remain.
The Montenegrin football team struggled against the Czech Republic, resulting in their first loss of the World Cup qualifiers.
They suffered a 2:0 defeat in Plzen, and the margin could have been even greater…
“It was a challenging match with a high tempo. The Czechs started strong, and we had a near-miss with a goal from Vukotić that was slightly offside. We made substitutions later on, but our opponents managed to defend quite comfortably,” stated Stefan Savić in an interview with RTCG.
The Czech Republic proved to be the stronger side, with two goals marking the difference.
“We believe we can compete with the Czechs, but they capitalize on the opportunities they create. This loss adds to our record against them, but we are looking forward; many points are still available, and we are not giving up,” he added.
Montenegro has now been defeated in all six encounters against the Czech Republic.
“It’s hard to believe that statistic, but it is what it is. We must acknowledge that they outperformed us in crucial moments,” Savić concluded, marking his return to the national team after a 14-month hiatus.
