Medojević Assaulted at Home in Front of His Family
A representative of the Europe Now Movement (PES) in Danilovgrad announced today that PES councilor Dragan Medojević was verbally assaulted at his home, in front of his wife and young children.
“We strongly condemn the uncivilized verbal attack on our colleague, councilor Dragan Medojević, which took place at his home in the presence of his family. This incident is a blatant assault on the personal, family, and political integrity of our councilor. Verbal threats—particularly when made on one’s doorstep and in front of family—are a cowardly and alarming act intended to intimidate our councilor and undermine the essence of free, responsible, and principled civic participation during these troubling times,” stated the Club of Councilors of the Europe Now Movement in Danilovgrad.
Furthermore, they pointed out that Medojević “is a person with health challenges, which adds significant gravity to the situation and compels the relevant authorities to take action.”
“The Europe Now Movement will not accept any form of violence, intimidation, or coercion aimed at our members and elected representatives. We stand in full and unequivocal support of our colleague Medojević and want to inform the public that we will utilize all legal avenues to hold the perpetrator accountable and protect our member. We also urge all political entities, institutions, and the broader community to take a firm stance against the use of violence and intimidation for political or personal agendas,” the PES Danilovgrad Councillors’ Club emphasized in their statement.
They affirmed that any assault on a councilor is an assault on the institution of local governance, and they will not tolerate it.
“In closing, we assert: The Club of Councilors of the Europe Now Movement – Danilovgrad will remain steadfast in the face of threats, intimidation, and coercion. We uphold our principles, protect our people, and will always speak out against injustices or any actions that violate standard and acceptable behavior,” they declared.
