“Sharks” Fall to Croatia Before Facing France Ahead of Japan Trip

The Montenegro water polo team faced a defeat against Croatia, ending the friendly match with a score of 13:9 (3:2, 4:4, 4:1, 2:2) in Herceg Novi.
Just three days prior, Montenegro secured a win against France with a score of 12:8. They are set to compete in one final preparatory match tomorrow at 19:45 before their trip to Japan, where the “sharks” aim to participate in the World Cup from July 29 onwards.
Croatia showcased greater strength during the match, particularly in the latter two quarters. By the middle of the second period, they had taken a 7:4 lead, although the “sharks” managed to close the gap to 7:6 by halftime and even had an opportunity to equalize.
In the second half, the Croatian team dominated, quickly restoring their three-goal advantage with a score of 9:6, and two minutes before the end of the third quarter, they increased their lead to four goals (11:7).
By the end of the match, Croatia extended their lead further, leading 13:7 midway through the final quarter.
During this phase, Montenegro failed to capitalize on five man-up attacks and committed numerous technical errors, while Croatia remained secure and effective in their execution.
In the closing moments, Montenegro managed to reduce their margin of defeat.
