The Ulcinj branch of the Civic Movement (GP) URA has declared that the rise of populism and nationalism must not dominate Montenegro.
According to URA headquarters, the preparations for the upcoming 4th regular Congress, involving municipal committee meetings, are nearing completion.
During a session of the Ulcinj URA Municipal Board, candidates for leadership positions had a chance to present their platforms and engage with members. Following this, the decision was made to nominate Dr. Dritan Abazović for party president and Ana Novaković-Đurović, Milena Vuković, and Blaža Rađenović as vice presidents, as stated in the URA GP announcement.
The Ulcinj URE emphasizes that this Congress presents a chance to revitalize GP URA’s political approach, asserting it as the sole truly civic party that does not partake in the division created by two opposing blocs that highlight divisive issues within our society.
“We must not permit populist and nationalist agendas to entirely govern Montenegro. Elected officials should utilize their authority to serve the populace and the state, not to pursue personal agendas. We must prevent a government willing to hand over our most valuable natural resources for 99 years, disregarding the Constitution, our national laws, and EU directives. Montenegro requires a government dedicated solely to its citizens’ welfare, transforming it into the most beautiful European narrative that serves all its inhabitants,” stressed the URE from Ulcinj.
The Fourth Congress of the GP URA is scheduled for July 5th at Lovćen, where a new leadership will be elected. The Congress will also unveil their vision and program for the country’s development, entitled “Montenegro 365.”
