A Serbian national, Ž.M. (52), has been sentenced to 32 days in jail for driving under the influence of heroin, according to an announcement from the Budva Misdemeanor Court.
Marko Đukanović, the court’s president, stated that Judge Ivana Vukasović from the Kotor division imposed the sentence after it was established in a summary procedure that on June 14, early in the morning, Ž.M. was operating a vehicle that had previously been banned from use due to other infractions while under the influence of heroin.
“The judge determined that he should be sent to UIKS Spuž to serve his sentence before the ruling becomes final, due to concerns that, as a foreign citizen, he might evade the sentence if allowed to remain at liberty,” the statement read.
The Budva Misdemeanor Court indicated that following the completion of his sentence, Ž.M. will be expelled from Montenegro based on a specific ruling.
