The disposal of seized cigarettes, which were held in the “Port of Bar” Free Zone, marks another significant step in the ongoing and determined battle against the smuggling of tobacco products, stated Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
In a message on social media platform X, he expressed that Montenegro has definitively moved away from its history of smuggling and is now focused on its European aspirations.
“The destruction of the confiscated cigarettes stored in the ‘Port of Bar’ Free Zone represents another crucial move in our systematic and unyielding campaign against a longstanding issue involving security, fiscal integrity, and the economy—tobacco product smuggling,” noted Spajić.
He added that the destruction will be conducted soon with the assistance of European partners, adhering to all necessary procedures, including those related to environmental protection.
