Jezero is one step closer to safety, while Rudar is one step further from reclaiming their elite status; the final outcome remains undecided and will be determined in the second leg.
In the initial match of the play-offs for the First League, the team from Plav secured a 1:0 victory over the team from Pljevlja on neutral turf, yet at their customary base in Berane.
Once again, Mihailo Perović emerged as the key player, a forward who helped save Miodrag Džudović’s side from direct relegation with 15 goals this season (making him the league’s second top scorer), and he was pivotal in the playoff opener.
It was in the 27th minute when Rudar defender Damjan Radulović made a critical error, losing possession as the last man, allowing Perović to sprint toward the goal and skillfully place the ball past Balša Radanović.
The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, although there were opportunities for further goals.
Mitar Ćuković nearly doubled the lead with a superb free kick from just outside the box in the 40th minute, striking the crossbar.
The Pljevlja side then found the net with a solid header from Vojin Pavlović after the break, only for the assistant referee to disallow it for offside, denying Rudar the equalizer.
Mladen Mladen Lambulić’s squad will aim to overturn the deficit on Sunday, June 4th, at their home ground near Golubinje.
