The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, extended his congratulations on the occasion of Plav Municipality Day to the municipal leaders, councilors, and residents of the city.
“Plav stands as a symbol of coexistence, the strength of unity, and the beauty of diversity. Situated at the crossroads of cultures and religions, framed by Prokletije and Plav Lake, this municipality demonstrates that diversity enriches rather than divides. As Montenegro strives to progress, Plav exemplifies how local communities can improve daily life through hard work and dedication, serving as an example for us all in how to care for our home and community responsibly,” stated Milatović.
He expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication, commitment, and hospitality of Plav’s residents, who play a vital role in its development through their efforts.
“In that spirit, I wholeheartedly support all initiatives aimed at enhancing the tourism offerings of this region and preserving traditional events, including the ‘Blueberry Days’—now in their 25th edition this year—and the ‘Diaspora Days in Plav’—an event that underscores Plav’s respect for its people, both those who remain and those who return. Alongside a strong emphasis on tourism, I trust that the local government will continue to strategically develop infrastructure, strengthen agricultural production, and bolster other economic sectors to create a sustainable and promising economic outlook for Plav. It’s time for every young person in Plav to see opportunities ahead, rather than reasons to leave. Let’s transform our natural beauty into economic strength and our unity into a foundation for development,”Milatović remarked.
