Žižić “takes down” Marić in the second round
Milorad Žižić, a professional boxer from Montenegro, secured a victory against local fighter Leon Marić, who hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina, during a ranking match held in Cologne.
Žižić achieved his 14th professional win by delivering a knockout in the second round, marking his return to the ring after a three-year hiatus.
His previous fight took place on January 26, 2022, where he triumphed over the Georgian boxer Merab Gukasini for the WBU light heavyweight world title.
“I’m pleased with my performance throughout the match. I truly needed a comeback like this. Training will resume immediately, as I have a bout scheduled against Kim Poulsen from Denmark on August 30th in Berlin,” Žižić remarked.
He also announced plans for a ten-round fight on November 11th in Accra, Ghana.
“If all goes as planned, we’re aiming for one of the prestigious titles. I receive tremendous support from the people of Montenegro and my fellow citizens in Nikšić, which means a lot to me. Boxing is an integral part of my life, and I aspire to contribute even more to this sport, as I believe I can. Let’s keep advancing,” Žižić stated.
