Younger Players Competing at the Nations League Tournament
The Montenegrin youth national football team is set to make its debut in the newly established UEFA Nations League for this age group next week.
Coach Radovan Kavaja has called up 20 players for the mini-tournament, which will take place under League B.
The selection includes goalkeepers – Simon Sošić (Budućnost) and Edin Lekić (Jezero);
defenders – Aleksa Perišić, Novak Fatić, Lazar Popović, Andrija Anđelić (Budućnost), Đorđe Fabris, Stefan Delić (Budva), and Petar Sekulović (OFK Titograd);
midfielders – Viktor Bubanja (Budva), Petar Vujović, Jovan Andić (Budućnost), Vuk Pavicevic (Mladost DG), Petar Ražnatović, Viktor Lesjak (Arsenal), and Vesko Cukić (Red Star, Serbia);
forwards – Matija Jovanović, Petar Jašović (Budućnost), Andrija Vukoje (Inter, Italy), and Marko Popović (Podgorica).
Also participating in the mini-tournament are the national teams of Estonia and Latvia, with the matches being hosted in Montenegro.
The team finishing in first place will qualify for League A, bringing them one step closer to a spot in the European Championship final tournament.
The assembly of Montenegrin football players is set for May 30th at 14:00.
