A resident of Kotor, identified as AK (27), was extradited from Serbia to Montenegro today to resume serving his eight-year prison sentence, as announced by the Police Directorate.
According to the statement, AK has been transferred to the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions to continue his sentence of eight years for the unauthorized production, possession, and trafficking of drugs, as well as illegal possession and carrying of firearms.
The authorities highlighted that AK’s eight-year sentence was determined by a ruling from the Higher Court in Podgorica on January 20 of this year, which took over the execution of a verdict from the Higher Court in Belgrade dated May 14, 2019.
Based on police reports, AK was convicted after a search on February 2, 2018, in an apartment he rented in Belgrade uncovered over 104 kilograms of marijuana, more than 85 grams of cocaine, and a significant amount of amphetamine, valued at approximately 2,700 euros.
During the search, authorities also discovered illegally possessed firearms and ammunition, specifically two CZ pistols and 44 rounds of 7.65 millimeter ammunition.
