On the day when students organized blockades of three bridges in Novi Sad to commemorate the three-month anniversary of the tragic canopy collapse at the Railway Station, which claimed 15 lives, artist Marina Abramović hailed them as today’s heroes.

“The students of Serbia are the heroes of today,” stated Marina Abramović, as announced on the official Instagram account of the Marina Abramović Institute.

Marina Abramović is a globally renowned performance artist with roots in Yugoslavia, Montenegro, and Serbia.

Notably, in 2012, she was honored with the prestigious Thirteenth of July Award for Lifetime Achievement, the highest state award in Montenegro.
