Thanks to the collaboration between the fire and rescue unit of Nikšić, the Army of Montenegro, and the Operational and Communication Center of the Directorate, two significant fires were successfully extinguished in the Krupačko Lake area and the village of Crkvice in Oputni Rudine.
“Today showcased the effective teamwork of our Fire and Rescue Unit with the OKC and the Army of Montenegro. With aerial assistance from a military Bell 412 and ground support from our firefighters, we managed to extinguish two large fires in the Krupačko Lake and Crkvice areas in Banjani. We extend our gratitude to the helicopter crew and the residents of Crkvice for their cooperation today,” stated Slavko Tadić, commander of the Nikšić Protection and Rescue Service, to Vijesti.
Additionally, Tadić reported that aside from these two major fires, their unit responded to seven other incidents, all involving outdoor fire extinguishment.
“We urge citizens to exercise caution in their actions to prevent fires, as their negligence can jeopardize us all,” Tadić emphasized.
