Why Not Allocate Citizens’ Funds to Modernize Airports While Keeping Them Public?

Why aren’t we allocating public funds to upgrade airports and maintain them as state assets? This was the statement made today by Social Democrats (SD) MP Branislav Nenezić.
“It seems likely that yet another ‘historical project’ of the 44th Government will not only lead to Montenegro losing the right to manage its airports but, due to years of neglect, has reduced them to mere ‘transit’ facilities. This will, in turn, cost Montenegrin citizens an additional 50 million euros. If this is the case, why wasn’t a portion of that funding set aside, following discussions with landowners, to facilitate land restitution, with the remainder being used to modernize the airports that would remain publicly owned?” Nenezić questioned.
He further remarked that the situation strongly resembles the so-called “0 euro investments” seen in TO Montenegro.
