Border Police officers apprehended a 49-year-old citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, identified as MI, at the Šćepan Polje border crossing. He was sought on an international arrest warrant issued by Germany.

“Yesterday, following a request from Interpol NCB Wiesbaden, the Border Police detained MI, who is wanted for criminal proceedings initiated against him in Erfurt. He is suspected of committing fraudulent embezzlement, for which he could face up to 10 years in prison,” announced the Police Directorate.

Authorities confirmed that MI will be presented to the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica within the legally stipulated timeframe, and that collaboration between the Montenegrin and German authorities regarding the extradition process will commence.
