The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, welcomed the silver medal-winning Montenegrin water polo team at Villa Gorica. The Montenegrin cadets faced Hungary in the European Championship final.

During the gathering, President Milatović bestowed gifts and a state recognition in the form of a Charter, celebrating their impressive achievements.

“Congratulations! I believe this marks the beginning of many great successes that we will celebrate together. Prioritizing sports, youth, and education forms the foundation of a healthy and orderly society. Today’s reception aims to highlight these priorities. Our hearts swell with pride seeing such inspiring youth; I eagerly await your future victories, and the entire Montenegro shares in this anticipation. Wishing you happiness, well-deserved recognition for your hard work, and I look forward to celebrating future successes,” stated President Milatović.

He emphasized the importance of the state focusing on water polo moving forward, increasing investments in the sport, and developing necessary infrastructure not just in the south and Podgorica, but across the country. The achievements of our athletes serve as the best indication that such investments are essential in the near future.
