The Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration (UPSUL) successfully conducted two operations on Saturday, rescuing four individuals off the Montenegrin coast, as per UPSUL’s announcement.
According to the report, the interventions were executed swiftly and effectively, without requiring medical assistance for those rescued.
The first operation was carried out in Ulcinj, near the Albatros Hotel, where a rescue scooter with a lifeguard responded after receiving a report about two individuals in danger due to strong sea currents.
“Thanks to the swift response, citizens from Bosnia and Herzegovina who were unable to swim back to shore were rescued,” the statement noted.
UPSUL added that the second intervention occurred in the evening on the inaccessible Crvena glavica beach near Čanj, where two Czech citizens and their dog became stranded and requested help via the Operational Communications Center (OKC 112).
“Because of the slippery and hazardous terrain, returning on foot was not an option; hence, the rescue was conducted from the sea using the SAR-5 vessel,” the statement further explained.
The operation was executed by the SAR team crew in coordination with relevant services, successfully evacuating the individuals to a safe coastal location.
“UPSUL urges both citizens and tourists to follow safety recommendations, particularly regarding movement in inaccessible areas and swimming in regions with strong sea currents,” the statement concluded.
