Montenegro has a rich maritime tradition, and our seafarers are deserving of greater recognition, stated Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović during a ceremony held in Kotor to commemorate International Seafarers’ Day on June 25.
“This marks the inaugural institutional celebration of Seafarers’ Day, and I can affirm that the Ministry, under my leadership, is firmly committed to implementing specific, measurable, and sustainable reforms,” Radulović noted.
The United Nations officially recognizes Seafarers’ Day, honoring the essential contributions that seafarers make to global maritime trade and the economy.
“Montenegrin seafarers rightly deserve more support. This administration is dedicated to ensuring that they receive it. Montenegro’s identity as a maritime nation will endure through reform, responsibility, and revitalization,” concluded Radulović, as reported by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
This year’s campaign from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is titled “My Harassment-Free Ship Environment.” This vital initiative encourages a culture of mutual respect and a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of harassment.
