Joković Once Again Exhibits Unmatched Political Cowardice and Personal Insecurity

“Vladimir Joković, the president of the SNP, has once again shown remarkable political cowardice and personal insecurity. He suggested dissolving the SNP Herceg Novi Municipal Board and proposed my expulsion from the SNP Main Board—all through an electronic session! Only those void of courage act in such a manner,” stated Radisav – Rašo Nikić, a member of the SNP Main Board.

He questions the timing and method of Joković’s actions in a statement sent to “Vijesti”.

“Why was this issue not raised during the Main Board meeting on June 6 of this year? Why didn’t he call for a new Main Board meeting, where, as is proper, his proposals could have been openly and thoroughly discussed? The reason is crystal clear: Joković is afraid of the truth and any debate based on facts. His reluctance to engage in reality and open discussions only underscores his weaknesses and lack of leadership,” Nikić asserted.

He assessed that this tactic is typical of autocrats who fear any dissent within their ranks.

“This practice of making decisions behind closed doors, lacking any transparency, underscores that Joković will go to any lengths to secure a third term. He has hinted in multiple forums that a third term and over eight years could be interpreted as privatizing the party. Even if it means grossly misusing institutions like the Ministry of Agriculture and the Forestry Administration, where recently those declaring themselves as SNP members and pledging to be delegates at the upcoming Congress are being hired en masse,” Nikić stated.

The intention is clear, he added: to ensure complete control and push the majority through coercion and manipulation.

“This is not just unethical; it is criminal, as public resources are being exploited for personal and party interests, while simultaneously violating the principle of merit and capability. Gentlemen, is this behavior fitting for a party that claims to advocate for justice and fairness?”

Regrettably, those who have not contributed any results to the party but have only gained from it, now united with Joković, aim to dictate its future. We ponder: why was the Podgorica Municipal Board not dissolved, which didn’t even meet the threshold, and then accepted breadcrumbs and humiliation in a coalition with the DF? Where was the political accountability then? At that point, Joković had no issue with dissolving the board because it suited him for the Podgorica board to sacrifice itself for the ‘greater good’,” Nikić noted.

He believes this is not an effort at reorganization but a disgraceful attempt to fracture the unity of the SNP.

“The message is clear—squelch anyone who dares to dissent from Joković. This is an open hunt for dissenters, executed under the orders of one individual who has evidently forgotten that the party belongs to its members, not to a single person,” the SNP Governing Board member highlighted.

He challenged Joković to reflect on his own performance in the 2023 parliamentary elections.

“How did the SNP perform in the cities he represents? Where were his resignations and his political and moral accountability then? Joković’s outcomes are disastrous, and his leadership has led the party to the brink of failure. Instead of owning up to the fiasco, he hides behind electronic sessions and seeks to eliminate anyone who highlights his shortcomings. This is a classic case of incompetent leaders shifting the blame onto others to obscure their failures. Enough is enough,” Nikić proclaimed.

He stressed that neither Joković nor those who cling to him for personal gain can erase him from the SNP.

“Those who know me understand that I have devoted my life to this party—especially when times were tough. That commitment will continue—whether I’m a member of Joković’s Main Board or not! No manipulation, exclusions, or dictatorial tactics will deter me from fighting for the principles and ideals that founded the SNP. I am a part of this party in spirit, not by position, and my allegiance is to the membership, not to some individual who has betrayed that trust.”

What empowers and fills me with pride is the undeniable fact that the strongest local SNP committee in Berane, known for its outstanding results, unanimously rejected these unethical proposals. This serves as evidence that truth and justice will ultimately prevail, and honorable party members will not permit its demise due to the ambitions of one man. “Fear of life stains the face—often,” concluded Nikić, who noted in his signature that “as I pen this, I remain a member of the Executive Committee of the SNP of Montenegro.”
