The expertise and experience of Slovenia play a crucial role in modernizing Montenegro’s employment policies and aligning them with European standards, noted Minister Naida Nišić.

A bilateral meeting took place at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue to enhance the relationship between Montenegro and Slovenia in the employment sector.

The meeting saw attendance from a Slovenian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor, Family, Social Affairs, and Equal Opportunities, Luka Mesec, as reported by the Ministry.

Nišić expressed her appreciation for the deep-rooted cooperation with Slovenia, highlighting that it is evident not just in institutional partnerships but also in tangible outcomes that Montenegro has benefited from for years in developing and bolstering its labor market.

“Slovenia is a steadfast ally and a dependable partner on our European journey. The collaboration formed between our institutions, especially through the exchange of experiences and expert assistance from Slovenian counterparts, is vital for modernizing our employment policies and aligning with European benchmarks,” stated Nišić.

She further elaborated that training sessions, joint projects, and expert documentation developed with Slovenian support, particularly through the work of the respective employment agencies, have significantly enhanced methodologies for assisting the unemployed and facilitating professional rehabilitation in Montenegro.

Mesec indicated that Slovenia regards Montenegro as a reliable partner, reaffirming strong backing for its European aspirations.

He underscored the readiness of Slovenian experts to offer their professional assistance to Montenegrin colleagues in achieving the final stages of the negotiation process.

The meeting reaffirmed both parties’ commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration through upcoming bilateral initiatives and creating an even more robust framework for workforce mobility and protection beneficial to both nations.
