The celebrations in Kvarner are ongoing, and Rijeka’s remarkable achievement of clinching the double crown in Croatia will be remembered for years to come. The architect behind this success, Radomir Đalović, is already planning for the future.

The Montenegrin coach led the team from “Rujevica” to victory on Sunday, celebrated the Cup yesterday, and now faces numerous challenges ahead for the “whites.”

“We’ll enjoy this moment, but we have serious matches approaching. We need to prepare, as the Champions League is on the horizon, and we are representing Croatia. We need to advance,” Đalović shared with Max Sport.

It is evident that some members of the championship squad will not be donning the Rijeka jersey next season.

“Changes are coming; some players will make well-deserved transfers, while others will leave due to expiring contracts. It’s essential that we strengthen our team for the Champions League, not just for ourselves but for Croatian football as a whole. We cannot afford to stagnate. Four players who participated in the final will be departing, but I am confident we will enhance our squad,” the former Montenegrin striker emphasized.

He reflected on a season that began with modest expectations but ultimately yielded remarkable results.

“We’re not fully aware yet of what we’ve achieved, but we will be. This is a monumental success. With players and supporters like ours, it was inevitable. I encourage the fans to gather in Korzo so we can celebrate together. This is a tremendous accomplishment for both the city and the president. There were voices saying we had given up and sold our players, but look at us today. The spirit of this city and club is one of resilience.”

At the start of the season, Đalović was given the opportunity to lead the club independently for the first time in his career.

“And I won everything; now there’s nothing left (smile). My contract has ended, so I’m waiting for the president to inform me about the next steps,” he joked.

He also mentioned personal commitments during the summer.

“There’s no downtime for me; I need to complete my Pro license in Bratislava,” Đalović concluded.
