All Montenegrin Representatives in Europe Will Be Seeded for the First Round of Qualifying Draw.
The final match of the Cup has certainly clarified the standings regarding Montenegrin teams’ performances in the qualifiers for this summer’s European competitions.
Dečić Admiralbet triumphed over Mornar with a score of 1:0, earning them a spot in the first round of the Conference League qualifiers alongside Sutjeska. The Nikšić team secured their European place as they finished third, since second-placed Petrovac was not granted a license to participate in UEFA competitions.
The champions, Buducnost, will compete in the qualifying rounds for the Champions League.
Thanks to their strong performances last summer and the consistent quality of teams participating, all three Montenegrin representatives will be seeded in the initial round of qualifications.
Buducnost will have an advantage during the draw for the first round of Champions League qualifiers, presenting a significant opportunity for the Podgorica team.
If the Blues manage to pass the first hurdle, they will secure a play-off round qualification for the Conference League—bringing them one step closer to the group stage.
Should the Podgorica team progress to the second round of Champions League qualifiers, they will be assured of three additional European matches!
If they face elimination in the second qualifying round for the Champions League, they will drop down to the third qualifying round for the Europa League. If they don’t succeed there either, they will still have the play-off round of the Conference League qualifiers to fall back on.
The crucial factor lies in the initial two-legged tie, and the potential opponents for Ivan Brnović’s team in the first round of the Champions League qualifiers include Inter Escaldes from Andorra, Shkendija from Macedonia, Levadia from Estonia, Dinamo Minsk from Belarus, Hambrun from Malta, Milsami from Moldova, Kairat from Kazakhstan, Noa from Armenia, Differdange from Luxembourg, Iberia from Georgia, Vikingur from the Faroe Islands, Shelburne from Ireland, Egnatia from Albania, and Virtus from San Marino.
The first legs of the Champions League qualifying round will commence on July 1, with return legs taking place seven days later. The draw is set for June 8.
Both Dečić Admiralbet and Sutjeska are seeded for the first round of the Conference League qualifiers and will face the same set of potential rivals.
Possible opponents for Tuzan and Nikšić include Santa Coloma and Escaldes from Andorra, Brest from Belarus, Auda from Latvia, Neman from Belarus, Megpis from Gibraltar, Torpedo from Georgia, Valur from Iceland, Tre Fjori from San Marino, Željezničar from Sarajevo, Birkirkara from Malta, Racing from Luxembourg, Sileks from Macedonia, Daugavpils from Latvia, Mališeva from Kosovo, Seinajoki from Finland, Runavik from the Faroe Islands, Hegelman from Lithuania, Kalju Nome from Estonia, Dinamo from Tirana, Heverdovest and Penibont from Wales, as well as Vardar and Rabotnički from Macedonia.
The draw for the Conference League qualifiers is also scheduled for June 17. The opening matches will be played on July 17, with the return leg on July 25.
This summer, Montenegro will be represented by three teams at the European level, and starting from the 2026/27 season, this number will increase to four due to the commendable performances of Mornar and Dečić last season in Europe, as well as Buducnost.
