Today, the Government approved the request from the Electric Power Company (EPCG) seeking authorization for long-term borrowing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

“This long-term loan amounts to EUR 25.63 million from the EBRD, intended for the second phase of the Gvozd 2 wind farm project, with an installed capacity of 21 megawatts (MW),” stated the Government.

Additionally, the Government passed a decree to repeal the current regulation governing the status acquisition and rights of a privileged electricity producer.

As the existing regulation was based on previous legislation, it no longer aligns with the new legal frameworks.

They clarified that Article 43, paragraph 7 of the Law on the Use of Energy from Renewable Sources clearly indicates that this matter will henceforth be regulated by a regulation issued by the minister in charge of energy affairs.

“Consequently, it is necessary to repeal the existing regulation to facilitate the establishment of a new regulation that will clearly and legally formalize the procedure for acquiring the status and the rights of a privileged producer according to the current legislative framework,” the Government stated.
