Revenue Collection Grows by 8.14%

The total customs revenue collected from January to May reached 520.6 million euros, which represents an increase of 39.17 million euros or 8.14 percent compared to the same period last year.
The Customs Administration reported that gross revenues exceeded planned estimates by 19.77 million euros, or 3.95 percent.
“Breaking down the collected revenues, value-added tax (VAT) on imports amounted to 349.06 million euros, which is an increase of 25.04 million euros, or 7.73 percent, compared to last year,” the announcement stated.
It was noted that 7.06 million euros more was collected from VAT on imports than planned in the budget revenue.
“Excise tax revenues totaled 144.11 million euros, which is 10.18 million euros or 7.61 percent higher than the previous year. Compared to the budget revenue plan, gross excise tax revenues are up by 9.4 million euros, or 6.99 percent,” the statement continued.
The Customs Administration indicated that customs duties collected amounted to 26.3 million euros, indicating an increase of 3.87 million euros or 17.27 percent.
“In relation to the budget revenue plan, an additional 3.25 million euros or 14.10 percent was collected in this area, while coffee tax revenues reached 1.05 million euros, and other revenues totaled 106,046 euros,” stated the Customs Administration.
