Nineteen-year-old LH, who was convicted of murdering an elderly woman in Podgorica, escaped yesterday from Dobrota, where he was being held under a court order.
According to information from “Vijesti,” he was apprehended in Bar this morning, following a theft committed during the night.
LH, originally from Podgorica, received an eight-year prison sentence in October 2024 after killing a 72-year-old woman in the Vreli Ribničke area of Konik when he was 17.
“The traffic police officers of the Bar Security Department acted promptly and effectively in response to a national search warrant, successfully identifying and arresting LH (19), who was wanted by the Kotor Security Department,” the police reported.
“The Kotor Security Department was alerted by the Special Hospital for Psychiatry that LH had voluntarily left the facility on June 6, where he was placed for mandatory treatment by court decision. It should be noted that he had previously served time in the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions for murder,” the Police Directorate stated.
In the past 24 hours since LH was reported missing, he is suspected of committing two acts of aggravated theft in Bar, stealing four mobile phones and 300 euros from two different properties.
“Under the direction of the state prosecutor, criminal charges will be filed against LH at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Bar for suspicion of aggravated theft,” the police announcement continued.
“LH will be taken today to the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Bar for further processing,” the police concluded.
