Bayer Leverkusen Football Club has announced Erik ten Hag as its new head coach today.
The Bundesliga team confirmed that the 55-year-old has inked a deal valid until 2027.
The Dutch coach takes over from Xabi Alonso, who has moved to Real Madrid.
Ten Hag had been out of a job since he was dismissed by Manchester United last October.
During his two full seasons at the club, he secured both the FA Cup and the League Cup but was let go due to poor performance in the league, marked by the worst start to a season with four losses in nine Premier League matches.
He also has prior experience in German football, having worked with Bayern Munich’s second team from 2013 to 2015.
