Season two in Italy has concluded for Nikola Krstović—a season where the Montenegrin striker once again showcased his goal-scoring talent, while also enduring the intense challenges of survival in Serie A.
Ultimately, Lecce and the “falcon” attacker magnificently secured another year in the top tier for the southern Italian club, triumphing in Rome against Lazio.
“I’m completely exhausted, and I’m typically not one to talk much. It was a difficult game, and this marks my second consecutive survival in the league,” Krstović shared with Dazn.
All season long, Krstović has been instrumental for Lecce with his goals, contributing to two vital victories in the final rounds of Serie A.
“There was immense pressure, but in the end, we rightfully accomplished our goal,” Krstović stated confidently.
This season, our forward has been involved in 16 goals for Lecce (11 goals and five assists), while the club from “Via del Marea” scored a total of 27 goals.
“Whom do I want to dedicate our survival to? My family, Graciano (Fiorita, Lecce’s late physiotherapist who passed away in April), and the fans. Lecce, I cherish you,” expressed Krstović.
The season isn’t quite finished for Lecce’s “number nine,” as he has an important match representing Montenegro against the Czech Republic upcoming in the World Cup qualifiers.
“Now, I’m heading to Montenegro to compete for the national team, and then I’ll take a break,” Krstović concluded.
And what comes after the break? A potential farewell to Lecce looms, as clubs like Inter, Milan, Roma, Napoli, and Leeds are already showing interest in the Montenegrin hero.
