All-Star Weekend Kicks Off: Kris Malin’s Team Shines at the “Rising Star” Tournament
The Rising Star Tournament kicked off All-Star Weekend in San Francisco. This exciting event showcased three teams of seven players each, all in their inaugural or second season in the league, along with a fourth team comprised of G League players.
The team that wins the tournament will advance to the All-Star Tournament scheduled for the night between Sunday and Monday. Notably, the team will be coached from the sidelines by Chris Mullin, a celebrated figure in Golden State Warriors history.
Team Mullin first triumphed over the squad led by Tim Hardaway, followed by a victory against the G League team. The semifinals featured matches played to 40 points, while the finals were contested to 25 points. Ultimately, Chris Mullin’s team clinched the championship with a score of 25:14.
The victorious team comprised Ryan Dunn, Zach Eady, Jalen Wells, Trice Jackson Davis, Stephon Castle, Dalton Knecht, and Kiyonte George.
On the night between Saturday and Sunday, competitions in skills challenges, rapid three-point shooting, and dunking will take place, followed by the All-Star tournament the following night.
