Radomir Đalović celebrated a remarkable achievement with Rijeka, clinching the championship title on Sunday, and was honored as the best coach in the Croatian Football League (HNL) the following day.
Taking the reins on August 13 of last year, Đalović succeeded Željko Sopić, who had been dismissed. He has delivered exceptional results with the club, where he also played a segment of his career.
“The recognition belongs to the players; it’s their achievement. I am grateful to the club’s leadership for this opportunity. It has been an exhilarating journey filled with challenges, but I firmly believe we’ve earned this title. We have one more match to play, and we’re determined to also claim the Cup,” stated Đalović.
Rijeka’s goalkeeper, Martin Zlomislić, was awarded the title of best goalkeeper, while Toni Fruk was recognized as the best young player.
The season continues for Rijeka, as the newly crowned champions are set to face Slaven Belupo in the second leg of the Cup final on Thursday, aiming for a double victory following a 1:1 draw in the first match.
