The Croatians Reached Their First World Final Since 2009, Thanks to Victory Over France.
The Croatian handball team made an astonishing comeback to secure a place in the semifinals, ultimately advancing to the gold medal match at the World Championship with a victory over their long-time rivals.
The Croatians triumphed over France with a score of 31:28 in a full Arena in Zagreb, marking their first appearance in the World Cup final in 16 years.
The “Experts” struggled to match the host team, who delivered an exceptional first half, establishing a nine-goal lead. However, the latter stages of the match told a different story.
France rallied to close the gap, pulling within three points, but goalkeeper Kuzmanović, alongside the passionate Martinović and seasoned Karačić, managed to maintain their team’s lead.
With this victory, Croatia reached its fifth final in world championship history, having claimed the title once before—in 2003 in Portugal, when they defeated Germany 34:31 for the gold.
The “Cowboys” will face the winner of the Denmark-Portugal match in the final, scheduled for Sunday at 17:00 in Oslo, with the duel set for Friday at 20:30.
