The memorial for “Ranko Despotović – Dele,” dedicated to the tragically departed former first team player of the Rudar football club, will take place on Sunday, May 25th, at the indoor football fields of the Sports Center in Pljevlja.

Alongside being adored by the fans of the club from under Golubinja, Despotović was a cherished member of the Pljevlja community for his athletic and recreational contributions, his unwavering engagement in tournaments, and his generous assistance in coaching young football players.

Dele carried his dedication and work ethic from the professional sports arena into his career as a surveyor. Unfortunately, he lost his life at work on July 10th of last year when an avalanche of earth collapsed on him at the construction site managed by “Mili Company” in Pljevlja.

The citizens of Pljevlja, along with friends, acquaintances, and admirers from across Montenegro and neighboring countries, paid a heartfelt tribute to their esteemed community member, Ranko Despotović, as he was laid to rest. In his memory, the Center for Sports and Recreation – Pljevlja initiated a memorial tournament.

In collaboration with his family, sponsors, and the Municipality of Pljevlja, the tournament will be held under futsal regulations, a sport that Dele enjoyed recreationally in various competitions following his football career.
