The Montenegro water polo national team concluded its World Championship journey in Fukuoka with a defeat to the United States in the match for seventh place.

The final score was 17:15 after five quarter periods, with the regular match tied at 12:12.

The “sharks” missed opportunities to secure a victory, finishing in eighth place for the second time within a year.

“Once again, we let victory slip away. We failed to capitalize on our advantages during the intense moments of the third quarter. We were physically and emotionally drained and lacked concentration. We have upcoming national team commitments early next year. It’s crucial to remain healthy, united, and motivated. Our moment will come,” stated Đuro Radović following the match.
