Novović Must Interrogate Paunović: A Judicial Resolution is Essential, Not Tavern Tales and Deception.
The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) spokesperson, Miloš Nikolić, urged Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović to interrogate Milan Paunović, a long-serving official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration, following his appearance before the parliamentary Inquiry Committee today.
Nikolić’s comments came in response to Podgorica resident Bato Vujošević, who reacted to Paunović’s allegations that he was part of the group that assaulted his son in 2009. Vujošević asserted that Paunović’s son instigated a brawl in a restaurant, and he claimed he was unaware that it was Paunović’s son at the time.
“It took barely a few hours for the web of deceit and performance we witnessed at the Inquiry Board to begin to unravel. We urge prosecutor Vladimir Novović to get involved and promptly question Paunović—after all, he seems well-equipped to follow the current government’s orders. It’s essential that the issues raised in the Inquiry Board be handed over to the appropriate institutions so we can receive a judicial conclusion rather than tavern tales and deception,” Nikolić stated on Iks.
