The Budućnost handball team is set to face the French team of the same name in Brest tomorrow, in the penultimate, 13th round match of the Champions League’s Group B.

Brest currently holds the fourth position in Group B, having recorded seven wins and six losses. They triumphed in the initial meeting in Podgorica with a score of 35:22.

Bojana Popović’s team finds itself at the bottom of the table but still holds a chance of advancing to the round of 16.

Popović mentioned that the upcoming game against Brest offers an opportunity to improve and that the team is gaining confidence for what lies ahead in two weeks.

“We aim to learn from the last match. There’s not much that can be said about Brest; they have demonstrated their strength in their league derby. They are a resilient team with numerous skilled and intelligent defenders,” Popović stated.

She noted how challenging it is to score against Brest.

“Everything hinges on that final match against Rapid, which we need to approach with our best effort against a team reinforced by several foreign players and equipped with top-tier talent. They frequently compete, making it easier for them to elevate their game for Champions League matches. Despite us playing at home, they are significant favorites. Our determination is strong, but we must remain realistic about our situation and capabilities without adding undue pressure,” Popović explained.

The match in Brest will kick off at 18:00.
