Young “Lionesses” Triumph Over Slovakia
Today in Podgorica, the Montenegrin women’s handball team achieved a victory over Slovakia with a score of 17:14 (4:7, 6:3, and 7:4) during the third round of the Mediterranean Championship for players under 17.
With this win against Slovakia, the Montenegrin team secured four out of a possible five points—one point for winning two periods and two points for the overall victory.
This marks the second win for the talented group coached by Miloš Perović and Bobana Krstović, following an earlier defeat against Kosovo (26:11) at the tournament’s outset.
Additionally, they had a draw with Croatia (16:16).
Ivana Savić stood out as the top scorer for Montenegro, netting six goals, while Nejla Hodžić added five goals to the tally.
Jovana Tešović contributed three goals, and Maša Dubljević made five crucial saves.
On Thursday, Montenegro is set to compete in two matches: the first against Tunisia at 16:30 in Verde Hall, followed by a game against Italy at 18:00 in the University Sports and Cultural Center.
